2023 Play in Purple Game
On Monday, October 2nd, Cheshire girls’ soccer (6-2-1) wons 2-1 over Amity (2-4-1) to improve to 4-0 in their Theresa’s Battleship Foundation Play in Purple games! Monday’s game was also played on Fitzpatrick’s brother’s b-day!
2022 Play in Purple Game
For the third straight season, Cheshire posted a shutout in their Theresa’s Battleship Foundation Play in Purple Game. Cheshire High School girls’ soccer (15-0) stayed unbeaten with a 3-0 victory over Foran (7-8). CHS set a team record for regular-season wins and also swept the regular-season series with the Lions.
2021 Play in Purple Game
For their Second Theresa’s Battleship Foundation Play in Purple Game, Cheshire girls’ soccer (6-3-1) built a 4-0 halftime lead and netted a season-high goal total in a 5-0 shutout of Shelton (2-8)! The Rams swept the rivalry series in the regular season!
Beyond the stellar performance on the field, the game honored the memory of 2012 Cheshire graduate Theresa Fitzpatrick. A former soccer and tennis co-captain, Fitzpatrick was diagnosed with cancer as a teenager, but used her fight to inspire and help others.
Over the last two seasons, the Rams have won their Theresa's Battleship games by a combined tally of 13-0!
2020 Play in Purple Game
On Friday, November 6th, 2020, the Cheshire High School, Varsity Girl’s Soccer Team played in their inaugural Play in Purple Game. The team held an 8-0 shutout over Hamden High, helping them to sweep the 2020 regular season series.
The Freshman, JV and Varsity Teams played in purple jerseys honoring Theresa Fitzpatrick and representing the Theresa’s Battleship Foundation. The girls also collected donations, raising just over $1000.
Through the Years
Since 2014, the Cheshire High School Girl’s Soccer Team has been collecting donations for The Theresa’s Battleship Foundation at games as well as in front of various establishments around Cheshire, CT.
